Certifications: Crossfit level 2, Reps level 3 personal trainer, Sports Rehab level 1
Years CrossFitting: 9
What do you specialize in?: Gains! Also in mobility and injury rehab
What are you passionate about?: Helping everyone move better to prevent injuries and keep the badass ninjas forever!
What do you love most about coaching your members?: Seeing them achieve goals they never thought they could before. Whether it’s their first muscle up or just moving pain-free their expressions when they first achieve them is the best part of coaching.
What is your athletic background? Any notable accomplishments?: Years of throwing a weird shaped ball and cuddling people on the ground (rugby) as well as spending most my school years playing football, no great talent other than winning the beep test when the fit people weren’t there.
How did you end up as a CrossFit coach? What path brought you here?: I was working at a normal gym for a few years before a fellow trainer introduced me to a workout they had found off crossfit.com… 12 minutes, a lot of soul searching and ego bashing later, I was hooked. Jump forward 9 years, a couple years training the queen, a few playing with sheep in NZ now I’m here trying to work out how many times I have to shout ‘come to the board’ before anyone actually listens to me.
What’s your favourite quote?: ‘Nobody cares, train harder’ We do care! Just don’t make up stupid excuses, listen to your coach, train hard. Simples.
Is there anything else you want people to know about you?: I love beer! Also dogs and crepes with lots of ice cream.
